VALLEY SPRINGS NEWS.
Many relatives and old friends gathered at the Federated Congregational Church Saturday afternoon to pay their respects to a long time neighbor and friend. Mrs. Thorval Klovestad, who died January 12, at 95 years and eight days, at the Mom and Dad Nursing Home, where she and her husband had been for two years.
Martha Larson was born January 4, 1872, in Whitewater, Wis., she moved as a child to Fairview and was married there to Thorval Klovestad on February 24, 1902. After their marriage the couple lived in Doon, Iowa, before coming to Valley Springs over 60 years ago. She was a member of the Federated Church, and had earlier been active in the Royal Neighbors and Pythian Sisters.
Survivors are her husband, a foster son, John, five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by a foster daughter, Mrs. Martha Elliot, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Pastor Werner Lemke was the officiating clergyman. Mrs. Frank Allen, organist.
