Funeral services for Mina Renes, 61, of Luverne, MN. were held Monday at the American Reformed Church in Luverne with interment in Maplewood Cemetery.
She died Friday June 1, 1990 at Luverne Community Hospital.
Mina Huisman was born August 13, 1928, in Newkirk. She graduated from Rock Valley High School and attended Westmar College where she received a teaching degree. She taught country school for four years.
On March 2, 1950, she married Sam Renes in Rock Valley. The couple lived in Kirkhoven, MN. for four years; Magnolia MN. for four years; Hills MN. for 11 years and moved into Luverne in 1969. She worked at the Luverne Community Hospital for 13 years as a nurse's aide in the nursery.
Survivors include her husband; one son; four daughters including Mrs. Galen (Jane) Versteeg; of Rock Rapids; seven grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.

Sam Renes, 62, of Luverne, Minnesota, died on Thursday, January 7, at his daughter’s residence south of Rock Rapids. Funeral services were Monday at the American Reformed Church in Luverne, the Reverend Gordon Bloemendaal officiating. Burial was at Maplewood Cemetery.
Renes was born on February 2, 1929, in Le Mars to Jake and Geraldine (Dykstra) Renes. He was raised in Sioux County, where he received his education. He married Mina Huisman on March 2, 1950, in Rock Valley. He was engaged in farming at Clara City, Minnesota, and in later years, in Magnolia and Hills, Minnesota. He worked for Tri-state Auction in Sioux Center for 25 years.
Renes became a real-estate broker and auctioneer in 1963. In recent years, he had been involved in apartment and storage rentals. He was also a school-bus driver for the Luverne school district and was active in the Gideon organization. Renes was a member of the American Reformed Church in Luverne, where he served as a deacon and an elder. His wife, Mina, died June 1, 1990.
Survivors include four daughters, Glenda Renes of Everett, Washington, Kathy (Mrs. Kip) Vasbinders of Tahuya, Washington, Jean (Mrs. Vernon) Whitefeather of Ponemah, Minnesota, Jane (Mrs. Galen)Ver Steeg of Rock Rapids; one son, David and Linda Renes of Sioux Falls; one brother, John Renes of Carmel; and sisters, Harriet Moss of West Union, Wilma Vander Stelt, of Maurice, Geraldine Selby of Phoenix, Arizona, Joan Albertson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Jan Foels of Postville; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister, one brother, and one granddaughter.
